Kodie Tse

Chairman, AIAT

When I founded AIAT in 2022, I had one belief: that competition is the most powerful form of nurturing. Not competition that breaks students down — but competition that builds them up. That gives them a stage to meet peers who share their passion, to explore what they're truly capable of, and to discover a future they never imagined possible.

AIAT is not just a tournament. It is an ecosystem — from the first seminar to the final simulation challenge, from the Take-Off Ceremony to the moment a champion steps into a real cockpit in Australia. Every stage is designed to nurture confidence, technical skill, and the courage to pursue aviation as a career.

What started as a Hong Kong inter-school competition has grown into an international platform across Macau and Kuala Lumpur, with Ningbo and Indonesia on the horizon. The mission remains the same: to create the environment where the next generation of aviation professionals can take flight.

The Competition Journey

Three Stages to the Championship

Glider Flight Design & Launch Challenge
Stage 1

Glider Flight Design & Launch Challenge

Teams design, build, and present their glider wing concepts. The challenge culminates in a live launch event where aerodynamic designs are tested.

Aviation Theory Knowledge Test
Stage 2

Aviation Theory Knowledge Test

Participants apply knowledge from seminars and courses in a comprehensive theory assessment covering aviation fundamentals.

Flight Simulation Challenge
Stage 3

Flight Simulation Challenge

The core competitive event — students fly aircraft in professional flight simulators with tier-based ranking.

Where Competition Becomes Achievement

International Recognition

Silver Medal at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

Students from Chinese Y.M.C.A. Secondary School — nurtured through AIAT's Logistics campaign — developed the T-PASS (Truck Parking Assistance System) project that won international recognition at the prestigious Geneva exhibition. A testament to how competition builds real-world engineering confidence.

"AIAT changed the way I see my future. Before the tournament, aviation was just a dream. After competing in the simulation challenges and winning the chance to fly in Australia, it became my career path. The competition didn't just test me — it showed me what I'm capable of."
